The Eastern Port Police Command, Port Harcourt now has a new Commissioner of Police. He is Mr James Olatunji  Caulcrick. He has taken over from Mr Victor Nosa Ojo, who has since been re-deployed.
Before assuming position as the new Police Commissioner of Eastern Port Police Command, Mr Caulcrick was the Commandant, Police Detective College in Enugu.
In an interview at his office in Port Harcourt port last week, he said told our correspondent that:“Since my arrival, I’ve tried to go round to know my area of responsibility.  I have visited Rivers Port, NPA Zone. I have also visited Onne Ports and Warri Port. In due course I will also visit Calabar Ports”, the new CP told our correspondent in Port Harcourt.
He assured that he would work hard with his men to ensure adequate security of Federal Government facilities, particularly those at the ports. He described the protection of life and property within the area of his jurisdiction as critical and key of their operations.
Mr James Caulcrick who described the ports as vulnerable areas, however warned all those that have no business to be at the various ports under his command to keep off, or be ready to face the law.
“We will not take things for granted. We will continue to take steps to beef up security of life and property”, Mr Caulcrick emphasized.
He advised officers and men under his command to take their job very seriously, nothing giving room to chances and acknowledged that police have a big role to play in the nation, particularly in the face of obvious security challenges confronting the nation.
He appealed to NPA, Port Managers, terminal operators and other port stakeholders to give his command maximum co-operations in order to protect life and property within the Eastern Ports.
