It was a day of commendations and felicitations for the  entire team of your soar-away weekly newspaper, Shipping Position Weekly last Wednesday, October, 29, 2008 as movers and shakers of politics and shipping converged on Lagos for the one year anniversary celebrations of the newspaper and the unveiling of the book “Contemporary issues in the maritime industry”
It was a day of confirmation that there is dignity in integrity, honesty, diligence, hard work and consistency as speakers after speaker confirmed what the publisher of Shipping Position Weekly, Mr Sesan Onileimo has been known for over the years.
He was roundly commended for being an exceptional maritime journalist who has remained focused and untainted even in the midst of rising unethical practices and the lure of the port system.
The anniversary celebration was also used to unveil the new publication
From the Chief whip of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, who presided over the double event to the immediate past managing director, Nigerian Ports Authourity (NPA), Chief Adebayo Sarumi who was the guest of honour and to scores of other dignitaries, remarkable comments of praises were showered on Mr Sesan Onileimo and the newspaper’s team, even as they expressed deep acknowledgement for the innovation which the book represents.
“This book: “Contemporary issues in the maritime industry”, we will continue to see as a major resource, Sesan, we will continue to see your efforts as a guide in helping us to advance in the industry”, so says the Chief whip.
Towing the same line was Hon. Tony Nwabunike, the chairman of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding who told the jam-packed hall that “Sesan is gifted; Sesan must give you the right news that is straight to the point, he is not interested in getting you to be molested. Sesan, I must thank you for all your guidance even when I was chairman of ANLCA, and later Secretary General”.  (Please go to page three for details).
