The battle for the ministerial slot among top members of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Kaduna State is in top gear, with the former executive director at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Ishaku Shekarau already noted a s front runner.
Other s are: former member of the House of Representatives; Isa Ashiru, a retired federal permanent secretary; Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.

Other s are: former member of the House of Representatives; Isa Ashiru, a retired federal permanent secretary; Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.
Shekarau, a former executive director of Maritime Safety and Shipping Development at NIMASA had contested for the Kaduna South Senatorial seat, but lost to the PDP.
Dr Shekarau reportedly single handedly founded and increased the popularity of the APC in Southern Kaduna, a hitherto PDP stronghold since 1999.
On his part, Ashiru is a third time member of the House of Representatives and the vice chairman, House committee on appropriation. He left the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to the APC last year and contested the governorship primaries, but lost out to the current state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
The third aspirant, Baba-Ahmed is a retired federal permanent secretary, he was the pioneer interim chairman of the APC in Kaduna state when it was being formed. He was also the presidential returning officer of the APC in the March presidential election.
While the duo of Ashiru and Baba-Ahmed are from the Northern senatorial district, Shekarau is from the Southern Kaduna.
