
The immediate past Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has been admitted into Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, where he has commenced a Ph.D programme in Public Administration.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, formally matriculated on campus on Thursday, marking his entry into the university’s doctoral programme.
The Osun APC flagbearer brings a long academic and professional background to the programme.
He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking and Finance from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as well as two master’s degrees, a Master of Public Administration from Lagos State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ado-Ekiti.
Beyond academia, Oyebamiji is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, reflecting his years of experience in the financial and public sectors.
His admission into OAU comes at a time of heightened political activity in Osun State, adding an academic dimension to his public profile as the 2026 governorship race gradually takes shape.
