Barely three months after being sacked as secretary General of the Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders Importers Exporters Coalition; Mr. Emeka Chukwumalu is set to contest for the position of treasurer, Apapa Chapter 1 of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents [ANLCA].
The ousted scribe of the group who disclosed to Shipping Position Daily via the telephone on Monday,  former members of the group played a pivotal role to ensure that it recorded appreciable progress in the ports, but lamented that  the group’s the national coordinator messed  up.
Chukwumalu said that ANLCA has been the mother of all freight forwarding association even as he added that he has been a member of the association before the cross-carpeting occurred some years back.
He said that the Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders Importers Exporters Coalition is a ‘toothless bulldog’ in port operations and activism, arguing that the constitution does not deny any individual the right to associate.
The ex-scribe however promised that he is ready to serve the Apapa chapter one of ANLCA if voted into office as treasurer.
But in a swift reaction to the development, National Coordinator, Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders Importer Exporter Coalition, Chief Patrick Osita described the ousted member of his group as a local champion.
He described Chukwumalu participation in ANLCA’s election as too cheap, for even as he put it, ‘’it is low for his profile’’.
He also reiterated that the ousted scribe should return all document belonging to the group pointing out that it might lead to court case that will hamper his participation in the coming election.
‘’You are in the highest position in our association and you were sacked due to incompetence, then you went down too low to put up for a position which a common person in our group cannot pick ‘’.
‘’ I expect him to talk about the progress of the port and not to contest for a chapter position of an association.’’
‘’To me, I do not think he will be a good servant’’, he said.
