C-K Star, a passenger ro-ro vessel, has suffered severe damage as it rammed into berth in Lianyungang port. The incident happened on August 2 at around 1:46 p.m. LT.
The vessel was en route from Pyeongtaek port (South Korea) carrying 104 passengers and 49 crew. Upon entering the Lianyungang port, C-K Star suffered power loss. It was unable to slow down and that resulted in slamming the berth, currently under construction.

One of the crew members was injured. The bow of the vessel was heavily damaged but there were no reports of leaks. Currently, the ferry is docked in Lianyungang. The incident is being investigated.
C-K Star (IMO number 8800743 and MMSI 441232000) was built in 1989. The GT14,991-tonne vessel is managed by Heung-a Shipping Co Ltd.
