The operators of the Kaduna Inland Dry Port (KIDP),Inland Containers Nigeria Limited (ICNL) has said that it will educate workers of the organisation on technicalities involved on inland container depot operations locally and internationally in order to ensure best practices.

ICNL also added that exporters and importers will be educated on how to carry out effective business transactions for the Kaduna Inland Dry Port operations.

Managing Director of the number one dry port; Mr. Ismail Yusuf disclosed this to journalists last week, even as he added that the plan is aimed at enlightening and educating the company’s staff and shippers on the successful commencement of the Kaduna Inland Dry Port (KIDP).

According to him, the training will be designed to expose staff and shippers about the ICD concept; it is also aimed at building capacity for all parties involved.

Yusuf noted that, "the dry port will also expose staff to increase their capacity building because some of them will go for both local and international training in order to become professionals in inland container operations".

He added that part of the reasons behind educating the shippers is to enable them understand how to make proper usage of their respective bill of lading, in line with the KIDP project.

"ICNL ,will not hesitate in educating all importers and exporters who will be making use of the Kaduna Inland Dry Port to ensure that no under valuation or under declarations are made"

"No wrong classification, no delay in bill of lading; at least it should be available for two weeks before ship arrival"

"Always clause your bill of lading to read in transit to Kaduna Inland Dry Port and ensure that the bill of lading carry northern address if your consignment is to be delivered in the north", he advised.

He also said that for exporters, the enlightenment will centre round Cobalt\NXP\NEC certificate.
