The marketing officers of Inland Containers Limited (ICNL) Kaduna and Kano Depot have said that the Kaduna dry port will commence full operation soon in order to cater for the transportation needs and other related concerns of the big business tycoons in the North.
The marketing officers, who spoke to pressmen in Kaduna, said the big business owners in the hinterland, particularly those in the Northern part of the country, will heave a sigh of relief shortly because the Kaduna dry port will address their stress of going to Lagos to get their containers.

They added that the company will ensure quick and safe delivery of goods and with a cost effectiveness that will boost high turnover for the business owners.
In his remarks, the Marketing Manager of ICNL Kaduna depot, Muhammad Kassim said: “We have several times emphasized the importance of dry port, not only to the business men and women in the dry land area where there is no water to ship in their consignment, but also to the nation in general. Dry port has the tendency to boost the nation’s economy in many ways and very soon Kaduna will soon have a full fledged dry port through ICNL. Then the depot in Kano will follow suit.”
“For now, both depots are operating as customs bonded terminal where goods are still cleared in Lagos and escorted to the depots by the Customs. But arrangements and all the necessary processes are being concluded for Kaduna to become a dry port and that will be the first in Northern Nigeria,” Kassim said.
