Kerch Strait Still Closed For Transit, More Than Hundred Ships Stuck Waiting

As of morning Jul 19, Kerch Strait remains closed for ships sailing to and from Azov sea ports – with all Azov sea ports being either Russian, or occupied by Russian forces. Situation with the Kerch Bridge after explosions might be worse than it is officially said by both sides, Russian and Ukrainian. Or how else to explain continuing transit ban? Either there are some security concerns, fearing probable hostile activities on the side of passing ship, or Bridge’s structural stability concerns, making transit highly unsafe for ships.

Dozens of ships, more than a hundred, obviously, are stuck at Kerch Strait anchorages in Azov and Black seas, dozens more are on the way. Most of the ships name Kavkaz port (in Kerch Strait) as their destination, though of course, they’re sailing to either ports in Azov sea, or ports in Black sea and further on, in Med. Most of ships’ AIS positions in Kerch Strait anchorages come with several hours delay, not a coincidence or mistake – Russians tamper with AIS signals in this area, in an attempt to disrupt other possible drones’ attacks.
