Barring any last minute change in plans, Lekki Deep Seaport, Lagos, will commence commercial operations on or before December 20, 2022.
This is even as the China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, is set to hand over the first the nation’s first and only deep seaport to it’s promoters on October 31, 2022.
The Board Chairman Lekki Port Free Trade Zone (LFTZ) Enterprise Limited, Abiodun Dabiti, made this revelation at the Nigerian-South African Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting in Lagos disclosed that the contractors are set to hand over the project on Monday October 31, 2022, preparatory to the commencement of operations.
The Board Chairman explained that the port has started dey runs and testing on September 15, 2022.

Recalled that the Minister of Transportation, Muazo Sambo, during a tour of the port said.
Lekki Deep Seaport project will create 112,000 jobs to Nigerians upon its completion.
The Minister said the port, would bring more tonnage and revenue to the port and the country.
