He also promised to work with his opponent, Alhaji Ibrahim to ensure the success of the association saying that election is not a do or die thing.
"Tanko is my friend, he is someone I love so much. He gave me a good fight also. What I said in the beginning is what I am still saying now, it is not a do or die affair, it’s just like where two brothers are playing, one person must win. I am very thankful to the founder for this legacy called NAGAFF. He is like a father to all of us. And as he is going for retirement next year, I pray the good Lord to see him through when he retires"
Also speaking after the election the Board of Trustee(BOT) Chairman, Mazi Chidiebere Enelema, charged the two contestants to work together to ensure progress in NAGAFF.
He also charged the newly elected chairman to ensure that all his executive officers are always around him.
"As you have elected him,it is like you have given him a bag of salt you ought to give him the desired support. You are not an encyclopedia of knowledge; you must not know it all"
He urged him to ensure that the content of the association constitution is seriously obeyed.
"Our constitution is very explicit; please ensure that the content is seriously obeyed. The Secretary General and other executives must do their jobs as required in the constitution. There is no office that is less important"
He also applauded the chairman of the NAGAFF Electoral Committee (NECOM) for a job well done.
"I want to say a very big thank you to NECOM, you have really done a very good job. I know that there were lots of challenges before you get to this place and the challenges will still be there, challenges will not end but the fact is that wherever we feel we have gotten it wrong lets try and correct it. Am also urging everyone present her to ensure that they identify with the system" he concluded.
