The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has expressed optimism that more of its top members who earlier ‘decamped’ to join the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) will soon retrace their footsteps.

Founder of the association Dr. Boniface Aniebonam dropped the hint yesterday while welcoming a former member of ANLCA; Dr.Basil Nwaolisa back to NAGAFF.
Nwolisa who is now the Vice President of NAGAFF in the Western Zone, was once a member of NAGAFF before joining ANLCA.

According to Dr Anienobam, the return of Dr Basil Nwaolisa is a clear indication that the war is over even as he revealed that other members ANLCA will soon join NAGAFF.
"It is not only Basil that will be returning to NAGAFF and there is already a directive that they should all return back because there is no more war", he disclosed.
Obviously happy with the development, the NAGAFF founder added that “in no distant time from now, people like Obicee Okonkwo will be returning and other top members will be coming back and I just want to mention some names for you all to have an idea that Basil coming back to NAGAFF is not an event, rather it is just for us to tell him well done he has done a wonderful job”.
He said that the emergence of NAGAFF has brought a new dimension in the business of freight forwarding in the country and the co-founders of the association are aware that it is a movement which has brought about professional ethics and standard of freight forwarding business in the country.
Aniebonam said that it take great people to win a war even as he added that the association was formed without violence and obstruction.
He pointed out that there was a system collapse on the formation of NAGAFF, according to him, "there were people who never wanted NAGAFF to exist and we have developed a tactic to overcome ".
He also added that ANLCA and NAGAFF are responsible partners in ensuring that the maritime industry thrives.
Aniebonam also reiterated that the leadership of NAGAFF will continue to extend high regards and respect to the president of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu even as he recalled that the association did not have a cordial relationship with the previous presidents of ANLCA.
"It takes only one man who is the current leadership of ANLCA which is Prince Olayiwola Shittu to reason like a human being, order than the attitude of the past administration or president of ANLCA who do not see reasons to recognise the provisions of the Federal Republic of Nigeria constitution under relevant sections 39 and 40 that gave rise to freedom of association in our country".
Earlier in his address, the returnee-member of NAGAFF, Dr.Basil Nwaolisa said that NAGAFF is the association he started his career with; where according to him he used to be the secretary of Tin Can Island chapter and later, the chairman of the chapter.
Nwaolisa said that his assessment of the two associations made him to decide where he truly belong adding that he has learnt his mistakes.
While fielding questions from journalists, the former secretary of ANLCA PTML chapter of ANLCA said that there is the need in a man's life to grow.
According to him "I dive into ANLCA thinking that they are serious with what they are doing and I found out that it is an organisation that rally people around them as followers without exhibiting leadership, rather they use position of authority given to them by electoral process to make their money and I am a radical-minded person, I cannot be found among such people.
He described the move as a way of developing in life and pointed out that he was unaware of his new position in NAGAFF.
He went further to say that, "I am not a man who is myopic in my thinking and don't just take decision because other people are taking decisions".
Also he noted that his mission in ANLCA has been completed and that he is back with NAGAFF.
According to him, other freight forwarding associations would not want an individual to shine or progress, but NAGAFF is the only association that can make an individual to achieve his or her dreams.
"In ANLCA and other groups, they only have leaders without followers and if you can look around there only leadership of other associations ,there is no followers but go to a function where you have NAGAFF you find the followers because NAGAFF is  one big family affair, it is a solidarity affair and NAGAFF is a movement and is not an organisation that is using the flesh and blood of the followers to make money, NAGAFF is for everyone in the maritime industry and that is why I am back and as I am back. you will notice a lot of difference in NAGAFF" , he assured.
