The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders {NAGAFF},has assured practitioners in the freight forwarding sub-sector of the maritime industry that it is ready to partner with the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria {CRFFN} and Redeemers University to further boost capacity of its members .

Primarily, the freight forwarding group has also reiterated its commitment to boosting capacity by ensuring that members of the association are equipped with modern Information Communication Technology [ICT] knowledge.

Speaking at the official inauguration and hand- over ceremony held in Lagos last week, National President NAGAFF ; Mr. Adeyemi  Oluwole ,disclosed that the moves to establish a well-equipped  ICT centre , in line with the academy programme was part of  the executives empowerment  programme for members of the association.

Oluwole stated that reviving of the NAGAFF Academy in collaboration with the freight forwarders’ regulating agency and Redeemer University is foremost in his four-point agenda for the association.

The NAGAFF boss stressed that “as part of our empowerment programme ,we will establish a well-equipped IT Centre for our members and all existing collaborative agreements and programme aimed at improving the skills of our members shall be respected’’.

The airport based freight forwarder noted that members must be encouraged to key into the culture of searching for more knowledge.
Oluwole also assured that NAGAFF leadership under his watch would take a step further to partner stakeholders on modern global practice in line with the FIATA module.

He said, "consequently, we are to set up a think tank group under the supervision of the deputy national president headquarters and I am happy to observe that we are richly blessed in the bank of knowledge individuals in our association"

"This group will be the power house of cerebral works we are going into and this think tank group will be constituted after due consultation and endorsement by the appropriate authority”, he added.

The President added that, ‘’our immediate assignment is how to give our members a sense of belonging wherever they are in Nigeria; therefore, members of NEC under my leadership, will soon embark on visits to our chapters spread across the country’’
‘’This will also enable the headquarters to have first-hand information about the challenges confronting our chapters  and how to solve them  and another benefit is that it will further cement the bond between the chapter and the headquarters’’
