The Nigeria Institute of Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers (NIFFCB) has assured all registered freight forwarders that there will a reduction in the cost of all categories of its training programmes as part of its re-branding efforts.
National President of the institute, Dr. Zebulon Ikokide made this known last week when the Institute flagged-off its visitation to all freight forwarding associations under the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

National President of the institute, Dr. Zebulon Ikokide made this known last week when the Institute flagged-off its visitation to all freight forwarding associations under the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
At the office of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders, Nigeria (AREFFN), Dr. Ikokide reiterated that the overhead cost of the institute gave rise to the amount charged presently for various grades of training, adding that the institute has the mindset to reduce the cost following its re-branding processes.
He noted that ," the institute would have loved to do it for free for all registered freight forwarders under CRFFN, but the fact still remains that we need to pay for our overhead"
"There are rays of hope as the institute is coming up again, because we are fighting to be included in the budgetary arrangement of the Federal Government as regards training of the practitioners "
"If we have budget allocation for the institute, I don't think we will ask the freight forwarders to pay except for administrative charges "
"But as soon as the budget is released for us , we don't have any reason to charge the practitioners for the training we will offer and we are working seriously towards that direction”, he stated.
He further added that knowledge cannot be quantified with money and urged members of AREFFN present at the meeting to ensure that the cost of the training is not a barrier.
Also addressing members of AREFFN 1st Vice President of NIFFCB, Milton Ofobruwkweta assured members of the association that training will be tailor-made to all practitioners, adding that the purpose of the re-branding of the institute is to concentrate on all aspect of the profession.
Speaking earlier, Vice Chairman, Board Of Trustees, AREFFN; Chief Lexzy Nwangwu said that the association will support the institute as members will fully partake in the training programmes.
He added that AREFFN as a registered body under the CRFFN is eager for a platform that will train its members.
