Njoku, Tanko, Ezisi, Farinto, 11 Others Elected Into CRFFN Governing Council

After months of anxiety over the delayed elections, 15 registered freight forwarders on Wednesday emerged winners at the elections into the governing council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

The election took place across the four freight forwarding zones in the county, namely: Western zone, Eastern zone, land borders and airports.

 

Among the notable winners are: Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) , the President of NAGAFF Chief Tochukwu Ezisi , Vice President of ANLCA Dr. Kayode Farinto and 12 others.

The breakdown of the entire election results revealed that NAGAFF now has eight elected members in the CRFFN council, ANLCA five, Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (ARFFN) one seat, while Mr Increase Uche emerged as the only independent candidates.

1. Ibrahim Tanko: 179 Votes NAGAFF

2 Ndubuisi Uzoegbo: 147 Votes (NAGAFF)

3 Tochukwu Ezisi: 110 Votes (NAGAFF)

4. Ekemeaze Ifeanyi: 72 Votes (NAGAFF)

5. Kayode Farinto: 72 Votes (ANLCA)

6) Metu Augustine Ejike : 63 Votes (ARRFN)

Umeadi Azubike: 29 Votes

7. Ozo Chukwurah: 55 Votes (ANLCA)

8) . Festus Ukwu: 4 Votes (NCMDLCA)

Notable losers in the elections are: Mr Festus Ukwu Secretary General of the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLA), Prince Ozo Chukwura factional board member ANLCA, Mr. Yinka Bakare President (NAFFAC) among others.

Addressing journalists shortly after the election, the Chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Auwal Suleiman described the election as free and fair. He however noted that the freight forwarders were not coordinated and orderly during the election process.
