This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Fidel Pepple of the Group Public Affairs Division of NNPC  last week in Abuja.
The release quoted Yakubu as making the promise at a reception held for him by the Monarch and people of Zangon Kataf at the Agwatyap’s Palace, Atak-Njei, in Zagon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The Group Managing Director of NNPC; Mr Andrew Yakubu, has promised to champion the building and revival of critical infrastructure for effective gas delivery in the country.
He said the building and revival of critical infrastructure for gas delivery were important in achieving President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda.
Yakubu said his administration was committed to developing the nation’s gas resources as a tool for economic transformation.
He said that the goodwill and love shown to him were a challenge to work harder to drive the NNPC to achieve greater domestic supply of gas to power plants for increased power generation.
The GMD, however, announced the establishment of a foundation in Zagon Kataf Local Government Area to address the dearth of entrepreneurial skills among his people.
Yakubu said the foundation would ensure that every gifted child in the community was given an opportunity to acquire education while deserving women and youths would also be given opportunity to acquire skills.
He said the establishment of the foundation was his own way of giving back to the community which produced him, pointing out that the modality and administrative structure of the foundation would soon be spelt out.
Also, Gov. Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State, at the occasion, commended President Goodluck Jonathan for appointing an indigene of the state as the GMD of NNPC.
Yakowa, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Aboki Galadima, urged the people to imbibe the culture of celebrating their heroes while they were alive instead of scheming to pull them down.
Many traditional rulers from Kaduna State and other prominent citizens across the country attended the event, which was hosted by His Highness, Dr Harrison Bungon, the Agwatyap of Zango Kataf.
