The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Malam Habib Abdullahi, has inaugurated a five- member committee to midwife the concession of terminal ‘B’ of the old Warri Port in Delta State.
Tagged Project Delivery Team (PDT) the committee which was inaugurated on last week was specifically told to ensure a seamless transaction of the project in conjunction with the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

The NPA boss told the committee which was inaugurated in the presence of the BPE, Director General, Mr. Benjamin Dikki to collate all submitted expression interests by prospective companies and evaluate them. It was also charged with the duty of preparation of request for proposals which would explain the rules of engagement as well as development of information memorandum.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration, Malam Abdullahi urged the committee to carry out its assignment with zeal and dedication so that the objectives of the project can be achieved within the stipulated period.
It will be recalled that Terminal ‘B’ of old Warri Port, which is a multipurpose terminal recently underwent a comprehensive infrastructural facelift which included the reconstruction of quay wall, that was raised to the level of sustaining the terminal for operational efficiency.
Additionally, the quay wall was re-aligned in straight line to the new terminal so that it can accommodate bigger vessels.
Following the completion of the rehabilitation work at the terminal, the Federal Government directed that operations at the terminal should commence, hence the placement of an advertisement for the expression of interest in newspapers for interested companies that may wish to bid for the concessioning of the improved terminal.
The PDT committee which is to ensure the successful implementation of the entire transaction include: Mr.Joshua Asanga, Engr. S. I. Abdulbaki, Mr.Yusuf Ahmed, Mr. O. Obumneme and Mrs O. Oyinlola.
