ACG Adekunle Oloyede, has taken-over the mantle of leadership as the new Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘B’ of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kaduna.

The NCS hosted a send-forth and handing-over ceremony to bid farewell to outgoing Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Sambo Dangaladima and welcome his successor.

In his farewell remarks, ACG Dangaladima expressed gratitude to the personnel of the zone for their support, cooperation and dedication which had paved way for his success.

He praised the courage and hard work of the Area Controllers and Officers, adding that their commitment to duty, professionalism and teamwork had yielded the desired results in the zone.

Describing Zone ‘B’ as a vast, yet manageable jurisdiction, Dangaladima noted that his experience in the zone was both fulfilling and impactful.

“I want to thank the officers and controllers for your support during my tenure and I urge you to extend the same cooperation to ACG Adekunle Oloyede,” he urged.

He described the send-forth ceremony as a testament to the strong bond of relationship formed during his time in the zone and encouraged officers to sustain the prevailing pace, hard work and team work towards excellence.

The outgoing zonal coordinator welcomed the new coordinator, whom he described as a visionary leader ready to steer the zone towards greater achievements.

Officers who spoke during the event described Dangaladima as an approachable, hospitable, and intelligent leader known for his integrity, open-door policy, and boldness in addressing issues.

They commended the outgoing zonal coordinator’s leadership style, which according to them, fostered collaboration and unity, while praying to Almighty to increase his wisdom to succeed in his new posting to Zone ‘C’.

During the ceremony, Dangaladima presented awards to officers in recognition of their dedication and excellent service.

In an interview shortly after the handing-over ceremony, the new zonal coordinator pledged to build on the already successes recorded by the outgoing zonal coordinator.

Oloyede noted that many of the controllers in the zone have exemplary track records, having worked with him in various capacities.

He described his posting to Kaduna as a blessing, emphasising that it deepened his connection to Nigeria’s diverse regions.

He expressed gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) for the opportunity to serve in Northern part of the country, despite his Yoruba background.

The new zonal coordinator announced plans to deploy a robust feedback mechanism to enhance operational efficiency and urged officers to adhere to the “seven golden rules of C’s” to surpass the achievements of his predecessor.

He stressed the need for openness, teamwork, and deployment of technology to mitigate risks and enhance service delivery.

“I am a data-driven leader and I will ensure inclusively, maintain open-door policy and prioritise emotional intelligence in leadership.

“I urge officers to add value to the service, embrace feedback, and operate with a sense of responsibility for greater success,” he said.

Oloyede assured officers of a collaborative environment and encouraged them to support him in achieving the zone’s goals.

He commended Dangaladima for his enforcement expertise and urged him to blend his revenue and enforcement experience for continued success.
