Over 25m Nigerians Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 In 36 States, FCT, Says NPHCDA

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency on Tuesday said 25,677,317 persons of the total eligible Nigerians targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination are fully vaccinated with the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

The NPHCDA further added that 11,820,499 of the total eligible individuals targeted for COVID-19 vaccination are partially vaccinated.

The health agency revealed this information via its official Twitter handle @NphcdaNG, while giving the COVID-19 vaccination update as of July 19, 2022.

For fully vaccinated individuals, the NPHCDA figures show that Kano leads the states with the highest number with 4,719,641; followed by Jigawa with 3,127,695; Kaduna – 1,975,951; Lagos – 1,568,762; Nasarawa – 1,522,842; Osun – 964,763; Ogun – 957,682.

In the eighth position for fully vaccinated rates is Adamawa with 818,435; followed by Oyo – 770,869; Zamfara – 654,828; Kwara – 653,102; Kastina – 613,786; Plateau – 597,937; Gombe – 516,877; FCT – 431, 149; Delta – 422, 450; Sokoto – 391,027; Ekiti – 377,141; Benue – 357,215.

Others are as follows; Rivers – 339,343; Enugu – 335,232; Bauchi – 315,460; Anambra – 307,576; Kebbi – 300,501; Ondo – 289,637; Cross River – 287,791; Borno – 282,440; Abia – 280,748; Niger – 267,009; Imo – 262,933; Taraba – 205,970; Yobe – 194,781; Akwa Ibom – 183,020; Kogi – 149,941; Edo – 136,651; Ebonyi – 63,169; and Bayelsa – 32,983.

Kano leads the states with the highest number of partially vaccinated persons with 2,885,319; followed by Jigawa – 1,037,594; Kaduna – 738,880; Zamfara – 459,700; Lagos – 453,337; Sokoto – 430,692; Oyo – 394,293; Kastina – 378,659.

Ogun is ninth in partially vaccinated rates with 356,052; Nasarawa – 352,927; Kebbi – 299,939; Osun – 285,736; Rivers – 237,357; Niger – 219,181; Benue – 204,425; Bauchi – 197,608; Ondo – 188,941; Delta – 187,911; FCT – 187,449; Kwara – 183,363; Adamawa – 177,409;

Others include; Yobe – 172,146; Cross River – 159,798; Ekiti – 157,636; Kogi – 157,496; Enugu – 156, 118; Plateau – 141,287; Borno – 138,373; Anambra – 135,703; Gombe – 128,113; Akwa Ibom – 127,442; Taraba – 125,826; Edo – 112,430; Imo – 80,722; Abia – 74,744; Ebonyi – 59,933 and Bayelsa with 35,960.

NPHCDA in the COVID-19 vaccination update said, “The COVID-19 vaccine is free, safe, effective and offers you and your family protection from COVID19. It is approved by the World Health Organisation and is currently for those 18 years and above in Nigeria.

“If you have taken your first dose, check your vaccination card for your due date and ensure you take the second dose for full protection.”
