A 20year old Jubrin Yahaya, has been arraigned before and Apapa Magistrates Court for stealing truck battery.
Yahaya is facing a two count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant KoladeTedunjaye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on the 7th day of January 2019 at TinCan Island First Gate, at Apapa magisterial district.
“That the defendant with other now at large did conspire among yourselves to comit felony to wit stealing. The defendant stole one truck battery valued at N65, 000 property of one Ahmed Adamu”
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant denied committing the offence.
The Magistrate, Mr. OS Abioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in the like sum who must be a blood relation of the defendant.
He also said that the surety must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos state government.
He adjourned the case to 4th February 2019 for mention.
