Over 3,500 vulnerable Nigerians have benefitted from various empowerment and welfare initiatives of SIFAX Group, underscoring the company’s growing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). The interventions, implemented between July and August 2025, were executed through its non-governmental arm, the Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF), and in collaboration with development partners.
In July alone, about 3,083 individuals across the country received support through diverse initiatives targeted at widows, children, people with disabilities, and voluntary returnees from abroad. The outreach included healthcare interventions for 639 persons in Lagos, Isade, and Zaria, as well as vocational training for 1,398 women, girls, and boys in crocheting, tailoring, shoemaking, and bag-making.
To promote economic empowerment, the Foundation facilitated a one-day capacity-building workshop for petty traders in Umuahia, which was tied to an upcoming interest-free loans scheme. In Zaria, 10 traders received direct empowerment support, while the Agbelekale community in Lagos benefitted from the provision of a borehole.
In collaboration with the World Bank and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), AAAF also distributed essential items to 750 Nigerians who had voluntarily returned from abroad, offering them a soft landing to reintegrate into society.
The following month, SIFAX Group partnered with NIDSMET Services to train another 500 youths in Lagos. The training covered confectionery, catering, textile design, photography, cosmetics, and event management, among other trades.
Speaking at the grand finale of the Lagos skill acquisition programme in Satellite Town, Group Head, Corporate Communications at SIFAX Group, Mr. Olumuyiwa Akande, represented by Mr. Olatunde Adewola, explained that the company’s vision extends beyond profit-making into nation-building through philanthropy and empowerment.

Entrepreneurship and empowerment remain central to our vision of a better Nigeria,” he said, urging participants to embrace integrity, excellence, and digital visibility as they chart their business paths.
Also speaking, Mr. Olabiyi Oluwole, Managing Director of NIDSMET Services, commended SIFAX Group for consistently supporting youth-focused programmes. According to him, “Since inception, this partnership has produced entrepreneurs who are today business owners and job creators. SIFAX Group’s continued backing makes it possible to replicate this impact annually.”
On her part, Foluke Ademokun, Coordinator of AAAF, reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to tackling poverty and uplifting vulnerable groups. “From scholarships for widows’ children to empowerment opportunities for women, AAAF remains dedicated to providing sustainable solutions to some of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges,” she said.
The company’s CSR efforts over the two-month period highlight a broad-based strategy focused on education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and social welfare — areas seen as crucial to addressing the poverty gap and fostering inclusive growth.
