The late customs senior officer was reportedly shot Tuesday evening while going to the mosque for prayers by unknown gunmen, suspected to be members of the Islamic sect; Boko Haram. .

Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nigeria Customs Service, Mr Wale Adeniyi who confirmed the incident told our correspondent that the late Ahmadu “had just finished an assignment in Bauchi, he was on his way to Maiduguri, it was late, so he decided to pass the night in Potiskum”.
According to him, the late Comptroller actually hailed from Potiskum. “Some men reportedly came down from a Golf car and shot him at close range and sped off after”, he added.
He was said to have gone to Bauchi in connection with the ongoing promotion exercise
The late Ahmadu was said to have served as the commandant of the Customs Training College in Lagos, from where he was transferred to the Borno/ Yobe command.
And reacting to the death of the late Comptroller, the Controller in charge of the Murtala International Airport Command Comptroller Charles Edike described the deceased Customs officer as a fine gentle man.
