Owners and drivers of Tata range of automobiles were last week given a free maintenance and repairs services on their vehicles at the Tata Africa service complex along Apapa Oshodi Expressway, in Lagos.
The two days programme which was tagged ‘’Maintenance Campaign for Tata vehicles ‘’ witnessed free examination of various brands of the company’s products by in- house technicians of the company.
Giving an insight into what informed the decision to organise the free maintenance service, Assistant Manager in charge of Workshop, Mr,Ogunyemi Joseph, said the aim of the campaign is to give the company’s customers a sense of belonging and for them to understand the maintenance of the company’s brands .
He assured that the company cares for users of its products, and added that those that attend the campaign with their vehicles will be subjected to repairs free of charge, stating that the programme will hold periodically with information that will benefit the customers
He said the objective of the programmed is “to let the customers of Tata Automobile know that they are kings and that we care and we are ready for them and of and course their vehicles”.
Speaking on the challenges ,the workshop manager said ‘’drivers sometimes ignore the information on their vehicles as they believe that they have been driving for long and we also advice them not to drive on clutch, but to some drivers it has become a habit for them and to us it will cause an adverse effect on the vehicle” .
According to one of the customers who was at the campaign and who said he has been driving Tata vehicles over two years, “the two days service is satisfactory, but the company should improve on the areas of electrical that has to do with lighting”.
But, Mr Amit Guilekier, AGM Technical said lighting defects which is the major complaints by the customers are applicable to other types of vehicles and that it is not peculiar to Tata products alone.
Another customer, Mr. Shakiru Onikoyi who is a staff of Classic soap, “the campaign by the company has shown that owners of Tata vehicles have all lot to tell after the end of today as it has saved cost to some of us”.
