Leading indigenous operator in the downstream sector of the Nigerian petroleum industry, Techno Oil has warned petroleum tanker drivers against fabricating vehicle charts to access and load products at its tank farms.
In a notice issued by the company at its Kirikiri tank farm in Apapa Lagos, a copy of which was obtained by Shipping Position Daily correspondent, the tank farm warned that hence forth, any truck found to have forged its vehicle chart will not be allowed into the terminal.

The notice which was signed by the depot management stated that the chart is supposed to indicate the loading and discharging records of each truck which must be endorsed by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR)
The statement reads that: "It has been brought to our notice that the use of fake vehicle chart, handwritten or self fabricated has become too rampant"
"At the depot with effect from July 1st 2014, you are hereby directed to produce photocopies of your original non expired vehicle chart endorsed by the department of petroleum resources"
"Failure to do so, Techno Oil will not be held liable for any short loading due to incorrect or fake vehicle chart" it stated.
Techno Oil has equally directed that the tanker owners should ensure that marketers’ names and outlets are correctly written on their Way Bills before the truck leaves the depot to its destination. Failure to do this according to the tank farm, may lead non-payment of bridging claims.
The statement also said that trucks must be properly tagged in order to ensure their proper discharge.
"Ensure that marketers and outlet names are correctly written on your respective Way Bill before the truck leaves the depot to its destination, otherwise, your bridging payments will not be processed by the PEF representative"
"Trucks both local and bridging are properly tagged to ensure that they are discharged via AQUILA, any truck that is not yet tagged should apply for one from PEF representative inside the depot" it stated.
