The Ogunsua of Modakeke, His Royal Majesty Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola has urged the new acting Customs Comptroller General; Bashir Adewale Adeniyi to take his new role as a mission to impact lives and inspire long-lasting sweet memories.
Oba Toriola in a congratulatory message sent to the Modakeke-born new Customs acting CG expressed excitement for the opportunity given to him to serve his Father’s land stating that with the new appointment comes a new mantle of responsibility.
He said: “Dear beloved son and brother, words cannot express the level of my joy, when your new appointment was announced. My immediate reaction is to thank God more and more for these great things that God is doing in our midst and our lives in Modakeke. I rolled to the left and to the right and oscillated back and front as I went into a frenzy of a new Saabada dance.
“I am particularly grateful to God for raising up people like you and preparing you for a time like this, to your Parents, Guardians and Mentors for molding an astute and sagacious personality like “you” and for your dexterity and hard work that created this new Oga at the top which has brought this much joy into our lives.
“I knew your hard work and dedication would lead to great things in no-distant future, I knew it was just a matter of time. Your passion and drive have always inspired me. We have been praying for the Lord to open new doors and finally our loving God has answered our prayers, all of us are happy for you.
“It’s such an incredible opportunity for you and all of us. We have observed with keen interest and fervent prayers when your career continues soaring, we were just very hopeful that you will reach that goal and we thank God that you finally did. Your ascension is an inspiration to all those coming after you especially our youths.
“We’re so pleased of your success! As you blast off towards your new post, let the thrill of new achievements excite you. With your new appointment comes a new mantle of responsibility.
“My little word to you is to reiterate the words of Will Smith “Life is lived on the edge.” And that of Henry J. Kaiser “Live daringly, boldly, fearlessly. Taste the relish to be found in the highly political top-for having put forth the best within you.”(Emphasis mine). Therefore I will agree with Sophie Kinsella that “I do not see such thing as luck in business.
“There’s only drive, determination, and more drive”. And finally borrow the zeal of Mohammad Ali that says “Don’t count the days, make the days count.” Think not of the days you will spend on this assignment but make every day count for our nation and our people.
