“WE HAVE A LOT TO LEARN FROM GHANA” Says, Nwabunike, Chair, Freight Forwarders’ Council

Chairman, Council for the regulation of freight forwarders, Hon. Tony Nwabunike has admitted that the newly inaugurated Council for the regulation of freight forwarding in Nigeria has a lot to learn form its Ghanaian counterpart.

Hon. Nwabunike who just came back form a familiarisation visit Ghana to understudy how the freight forwarders council operates in that sister West African nation explained that the Ghanaian system has been tested and trusted.

“We have a lot to learn from the Ghanaian system which is very developed, freight forwarding in Ghana is well respected and coordinated”

The Council chairman who expressed delight at the opportunity which the visit afforded him, disclosed that he met with key persons who are involved in freight forwarding practice in Ghana, including their consultant, who according to him, is a Nigerian.

“Acceptability of the freight forwarders council in Ghana is very awesome, it is well established, they have gone very far, no wonder, cargo delivery is very fast”, Nwabunike stressed.

To underscore the importance that Ghana attaches to freight forwarding practitioners, he said he was able to meet the country’s vice president,   Alhaji Aliu Wahama through a simple telephone call to the vice president’s office.

Nwabunike who described his visit to Ghana as an eye opener gave assurances that the Council will do its best not to let freight forwarding practitioners down.

He expressed confidence in the qualification and competence of members of the council who according to him are drawn from tested freight forwarding practitioners and other eminent Nigerians drawn from diverse background.
