The newly- appointed sole Administrator of Institute Of Transport Administration [IOTA], Mr. Don Aki, has promised to revamp the institute within a short time.
The administrator, who was appointed, last December told Shipping Position Daily on Monday in Lagos that the challenges that surround the institute need to checked before finding a lasting solution to the problems.
Aki who is currently working on members that have withdrawn from the institute said that he has been able to address that aspect of bringing members back for them to work together as a team.

‘’Some of the members who have withdrawn their services or  who have decided not to come to IOTA meetings or IOTA matters again ,I am beginning to revamp that area to make sure that they come back and they are responding’’, he disclosed.
He said that finance has been a major challenge with the institute but affirmed that letters written to state government would be able to address the barrier in order to keep the institute alive.
According to him, members that have not shown up for a while have started responding to his call in order to revalidate their membership which he described as the right step for development.
He assured that in three months time, the Institute of Transport Administration will have a new face lift, even as he assured that he would achieve success before the end of the year.
‘’I was appointed as the sole administrator of the institute and from day one, I diagnosed the problem of the place and I noticed that one of the problem has to do with the lack of trust and leadership for not understanding one another. Infact suspecting one another is a problem here but that turns out to be a thing of the past because with the new competent hands I have with the old hands I can see everybody is ready to work. But they just wanted a natural person to be on ground for them to be able to work effectively’’, he added.
Aki also disclosed that the Board of Trustee gave him a mandate of 365 days to ensure that the Institute of Transport Administration [IOTA]  regain its lost glory.
