The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has granted a reprieve to its electoral commission to go ahead with conduct of the remaining elections into some chapters in Western zone.

The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has granted a reprieve to its electoral commission to go ahead with conduct of the remaining elections into some chapters in Western zone.
The association disclosed this in a statement issued in Lagos yesterday and made available to Shipping Position Daily. In the statement signed by its national secretary; Dr Emmanuel Ogu Oparah, it also gave the association electoral commission (ASECO) two weeks (from May 27, 2013) to conduct the elections.
The statement also affirms that the committee’s chairman, Alhaji Abdulazeez Mukaila retains his post for the purpose of the all-important elections.
The committee was also directed to submit reports of the elections to the national president and the chairman Board of Trustees.
Shipping Position Daily recalls that the ASECO had been recommended for reconstitution by a panel that was set up to review complaints arising from the elections. The recommendation was later upheld by the association’s board and the national executive committee, which also approved fresh elections in some chapters.
