The Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN) has said that it is ready to train its members on the rudiments of freight forwarding and other port operations so as to make them better equipped in carrying out their businesses.
President of AREFFN, Dr. Frank Ukor in a chat with Shipping Position Daily last week stated that the association is already making arrangements with certain maritime training institutions that will absolve the registered freight forwarders.

He expressed optimisms about training of registered freight forwarders in 2014, saying that the year will definitely be a better year than 2013.
"We believe that 2014 is going to be better, especially in terms of enlightenment, a lot of people are now going for training, and you know that when you are trained, you are more aware of what is going on around you"
"More of those training is going to come up this year, one of the things we are doing is to encourage our members to attend these trainings, by doing this they get knowledge, which becomes their power, and with this there will be a lot of differences in the way they reason, in the way they do their jobs and relate with stakeholders. So 2014, I am sure will be much better than 2013."
"We are arranging with some of the training institutions to absolve our members and get them trained, every of our members are going to be trained this year" Ukor assured.
