Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa has signed the Bayelsa State Maritime Academy bill into law.
Dickson told newsmen in Yenagoa on Friday, shortly after signing the bill, that the new maritime institution would be second to none in the training of seafarers in the country.
According to him, the government is taking youth empowerment to the next level, where they will be productive and contribute to the growth of the economy.
The governor said that his administration was desirous to impart positively on youths and improve the state economy.
