Car Dealers Laud Police Over Free Flow Of Traffic Along Apapa Oshodi Expressway

Car dealers operating between Mile 2 ,Berger and Sunrise bus stops along the Apapa Oshodi Expressway have commended the Nigerian Police Force for the free flow of traffic, calling on the commissioner of Police in Lagos State to sustain the tempo.

The dealers told our correspondent that some level of sanity has been restored along the road even though the tankers and container laden trucks are still visible.

Speaking with Auto Port Weekly last week, a car dealer Alphonsus Kalu urged the enforcement agency to sustain the tempo in ensuring that the presence of police traffic officials on the road.

Kalu maintained that the orderliness along the road has given rise to buyers patronizing the various markets where cars are sold.

The dealer added that vehicle sales has been fair since the beginning of 2016 , attributing sales to the free flow of traffic along the ever busy road.

According to him, the presence of the commissioner of police recently contributed to the development whereby gridlock is no longer witnessed by commuters.

He however, called on the government to repair the port access roads to further ameliorate the suffering of Lagosians who ply that axis to Apapa.

On his part, Mr. Nelson Oliver said that buyers are always sceptical about the nature of traffic along the axis but added that 2016 started on a rather smooth footing following the flow in vehicle movement on the stretch.

Mr. Oliver added that should the flow of vehicles persist, first quarter of 2016 may experience massive turnout of buyers, because according to him, the menace of gridlock scare buyers away from the Mile 2, Berger and Sunrise automobile market where used vehicles are popularly sold.
