CRFFN May Reduce Cost Of Training Practitioners

Following complaints by freight forwarders about the high cost of the various training programmes and the need to reduce the cost of such programmes that are being offered by some  accredited institutions by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), there are strong indications that the cost might be reduced to avail practitioners the opportunity to get empowered.
Registrar of the Council; Sir Mike Jukwe disclosed this to Shipping Position Daily in an exclusive chat in Lagos last week.

Following complaints by freight forwarders about the high cost of the various training programmes and the need to reduce the cost of such programmes that are being offered by some  accredited institutions by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), there are strong indications that the cost might be reduced to avail practitioners the opportunity to get empowered.
Registrar of the Council; Sir Mike Jukwe disclosed this to Shipping Position Daily in an exclusive chat in Lagos last week.
"What we are trying to do now is that before any institution goes into training, they have to sit down with us and agree what they are going to charge those coming for training".
"We are aware of the complaints by freight forwarders who are willing to get trained, we are taking notice of all their demands and we will address them”, he assured.
He confirmed that, "Indeed the charges are high and we are working towards that to bring them down".
He also noted that training of freight forwarders is not cheap and CRFFN is the platform to train practitioners through accredited schools.
Jukwe said that the law establishing the council does not gives it mandate to train directly, adding that CRFFN accredits academies that carry out training.
He stressed that as a regulatory body of freight forwarders in Nigeria, the council does not have the training facilities, but explained that, through the help of the schools, training is available.
The registrar assured that, "looking at the complaints by stakeholders in the industry who want training, I am assuring everyone that we shall address it to make sure many practitioners can partake in the training".
