The Board of the Nigeria Customs Service has approved the appointment of four Deputy Comptroller Generals and 12 Assistant Comptroller Generals.
Also promoted is the Services Public Relations Officer (PRO); Mr Joseph Attah who is now a Comptroller.
The promotions were announced in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Deputy Spokesperson Nigeria Customs Service; Deputy Comptroller Timi Bomodi
According to him, apart from the DCGs and ACGs, 2,707 senior officers were also promoted to various ranks with effect from 1st January, 2020.
The new DCGs are: Abdullahi Babani, Mohammed Boyi, Elton Edorhe, Katherine Ekekezie. The new ACGs are: Hamza Gumi, Mohammed Abba-Kura, Saidu Galadima, Gimba Umar, Obi Ekwealor, Bede Anyanwu, Mohammed Uba Garba, Kayode Olusemire, Lena Oyama, Florence Inuk, Lami Wushishi and Usman Dakingari
Some of the newly-promoted Comptrollers are: Babajide Adeniyi, Anthony Udenze, Suleiman Chiroma among others.

The deputy spokesperson gave the full statistics of the other promoted officers as: 64 Deputy Comptrollers, 118 Assistant Comptrollers, 244 Chief Superintendent, among others.
He added that, out of the 2,707 senior officers promoted 204 are support staff.
Bomodi also quoted the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) as congratulating the newly appointed and promoted Officers, even as he charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
