Don’t Abandon Us, PCC Vice Chairman Begs NPA Boss    

The Nigerian Ports Consultative Council‎ (PCC) has said that the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Ms Hadiza Bala Usman needs to quickly identify and work with some critical stakeholders in the maritime sector before she can move the sector forward successfully.
Vice Chairman of PCC, Major Henry Ajetunmobi (rtd) addressed the NPA boss at the first stakeholders meeting she conveyed since aassuming office in Lagos last week‎. 
The retired Major and Executive Director of SIFAX Haulage and Logistics Company, inundated Hadiza on the need to work with the PCC as a platform to reach all critical operators in the maritime sector.
He said there was need to revive the age long relationship between the NPA and the PCC, saying that past MD's had used the platform to communicate successfully with critical maritime operators.
Ajetunmobi noted that NPA is 61 years old, so also is the PCC, and that the Council has served as a platform for many past Managing Directors to successfully reach out to industry players and also to get feedback on certain policy issues.
He pointed out that the maritime industry is a very vast place with different groups that have interests to protect and project.
"I just want to remind you that we have a platform on the ground by which you can reach to the larger section of key players in the industry"
"I make bold to say that those of us present here are still far from the totality of the critical players in the maritime industry‎ and you need to engage them all if you want to forge ahead"
"For instance, the banks and financial institutions have a role to play, other government agencies, Nigerian railways, Central Bank, Marine Consultants and other consultancy groups, the number is actually endless and we need to touch them all if we really need to drive this industry forward"
"But then there is a good news because as old as the NPA is the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council"
"This is a platform that generations of NPA MD's have made use of to reach across to the critical stakeholders in the industry, we need to revive this so that we can reach across to them"
"not only to pass down to the stakeholders what policies and new measures NPA is introducing, but to also carry the the feelings and pulses of the critical players to the MD"
"The NPCC like NPA is sixty one years old and we should not make light of the platform it provides where you can reach across to critical stakeholders" he said.
