FG appoints acting Executive Secretary/CEO for Nigerian Shippers’ Council

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has announced the appointment of a new acting executive secretary for the Council,
In a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by the council’s deputy director, public relations; Mr Ignatius Nweke, the new chief executive is Mr Hassan Bello.
 Bello’s appointment follows the expiration of the second tenure of the former Executive Secretary/CEO; Capt. Adamu Audu Biu.

 Bello’s appointment follows the expiration of the second tenure of the former Executive Secretary/CEO; Capt. Adamu Audu Biu.
The appointment of Mr. Hassan Bello, who until his present appointment Director Legal Services, was recently conveyed to the Nigerian Shippers’ Council by the Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar.
The letter, which was signed on behalf of the Minister by the Acting Director, Human Resources Management E.T. Umoh, directed that the affairs of the Council should be handed over to the most senior Director in the Council in an acting capacity “until Mr President approves the substantive Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer” for the Council.
Mr. Hassan Bello who joined the services of Nigerian Shippers’ Council in 1998 as a Deputy Director and Head Legal Services, had worked with Ministry of Justice, Sokoto State, and later to Sokoto Investment Company Limited where he rose to the rank of acting Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer.
A graduate of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he bagged a Bachelor of Law, LLB and Masters of Law, LLM, Mr. Bello had attended other courses with the University of Southampton for a Maritime Law Summer Course; Lloyds Maritime Academy on Time and Voyage Charter Parties; Lloyds Maritime Academy in various courses on Carriage, Contract of Afreightment, Shipping and many other professional maritime courses and seminars.
