Scores of workers at the Techno Oil tank farm facilities located at Kirikiri town in Lagos were rescued from the effect of a fire which exploded in the highly volatile petroleum product storage tank.
Eye witnesses confirmed to Shipping Position Daily on Sunday morning that the explosion started at exactly 10.04pm when two tankers collided at the entrance gate of the oil and gas firm.

Eye witnesses confirmed to Shipping Position Daily on Sunday morning that the explosion started at exactly 10.04pm when two tankers collided at the entrance gate of the oil and gas firm.
One source told our correspondent that one of the tankers which was loaded with 33,000 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit while collided with the other that was empty, the collision led to the explosion.
He noted that no life was lost as a result, but added that were it for the prompt arrival of Navy o the scene, it would have been disastrous.
He also said that workers at the premises were evacuated by the Navy through jetty as the main entrance gate had become impassable as a result oif the inferno.
