As part of measures to revamp transport training in the country, Sole Administrator, Institute Of Transport Administration [IOTA] Nigeria, Prince Don – Aki has revealed that the academy has endorsed 10 study centres across the country.
The administrator, who disclosed this to Shipping Position Daily, in Lagos last week said that it is part of the mandate giving to him by Board of Trustee [BOT] of the institute to revitalise the foremost transport academy.
As part of measures to revamp transport training in the country, Sole Administrator, Institute Of Transport Administration [IOTA] Nigeria, Prince Don – Aki has revealed that the academy has endorsed 10 study centres across the country.
The administrator, who disclosed this to Shipping Position Daily, in Lagos last week said that it is part of the mandate giving to him by Board of Trustee [BOT] of the institute to revitalise the foremost transport academy.
According to him, seven of the study centres were made possible under his administration, while three other were docile before he was appointed to oversee the affairs of the institute.
Six of the study centres are located in the South –West of the country, with four located in Lagos State while two others are in Kwara and Ogun State respectively.
The six centres from the south –west includes; International College of Aviation and Transport Studies in Lagos, Rickmer Consult Lagos, Global Business and Transport Management School, Isolo Lagos, Capex Nigeria Limited, Festac Lagos with annex at Sango Otta, in Ogun State, Chrisvee Transport Consultancy Services, Lagos and Kwara State Transport Corporation.
Don-Aki said that three of the study centres in Lagos were docile before his assumption to office, but added that they have been successfully revitalised.
In the South –south region of the country, the institute has established three study centres in Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Edo states respectively.
They are: De-Hive Integrated Services Limited in Benin, the Edo State Capital, Frontline Ace Global Resources Limited in Calabar, Cross River and Uyo Business School in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.
However in the Northern part of the country, the institute has Doctrine Conceptum Consultancy in Damaturu Yobe State as its training study centre.
The sole administrator also noted that with the 10 active study centres in place, there is need for people across the country to embrace transport education as it plays a significant role to the nation’s economy.
