The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has postponed elections into its governing council indefinitely.
In a terse message which was circulated to all freight forwarding associations late yesterday by the Registrar of the council, Sir Mike Jukwe, the council failed to give reasons for the postponement.
The CRFFN council elections was originally slated to hold on Friday 29th in Lagos at its Lagos office in Apapa.
The council however announced yesterday that "the accreditation of voters for the CRFFN Council Election slated for tomorrow Thursday's June 28, 2018 and the voting of contestants scheduled to take place on Friday June 29, 2018 has been postponed"
"Consequently, the earlier notice to our freight forwarders to visit the CRFFN secretariat to get accredited will no longer hold. You are hereby this text advised go about your normal businesses"
"Further information on the new dates for the above exercises shall be communicated to everyone by Monday July 2, 2018. Please bear with us as we sincerely regret the inconveniences this sudden changes may have caused you".
Shipping Position Daily recalls that this is the second time the elections would be postponed in recent times, leaving stakeholders, especially the contestants in a state of bewilderment.
