The Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), says it has decentralised issuance of debit notes.
The agency made this known in a statement signed by the Head of Media and Public Relations, Dr Gozie Nwodo in Lagos on Wednesday.
A debit note is a document used by a vendor to inform a buyer of current debt obligations.
According to Nwodo, issuance of debit notes for NAQS services has since been decentralised following requests by customers and stakeholders.
“All NAQS Station Coordinators have been authorised and duly commissioned to provide that payment option for our customers.
“Importers and exporters of agricultural products wishing to obtain debit notes can now do so from heads of the respective stations in which the service is sought.
“NAQS exists to serve Nigeria and Nigerians, while abiding by international norms and conventions to which we as a nation is signatory,’’ Nwodo said.
