NARTO, MWUN Sign MoU To Enhance Haulage Movement

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance haulage movement and delivery in the country.

Speaking during the MoU signing that took place at the MWUN headquarters in Lagos, the President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju described the collaboration between the two union as a marriage ordained by God, this is even as he said the union’s doors are opened for responsible associations that will work with it with open mind.

According to him, “this is a new born, we’ve prayed vividly to have this collaboration for long, as a unionist we believe in working together with those that are responsible and MWUN today we are transformed, we are informed to the standard that you can compare with any other responsible association”.

“NARTO has been our brother; we have been together for years and have even been collaborating underground, but so many people did not know.

“The era of those who have no regards for management, for NPA, those who have no regards for this great country and who have no regards for you and I that; era is gone and gone forever

“I pray this collaboration will be the best the industry will ever witness. Our doors are always open for good collaboration for those who have the love of this great country in their hearts, so our doors are always open for responsible associations that will work with us with open mind” he said.

Speaking also, the National President of NARTO , Alhaji Lawal Yussuf Othman noted that NARTO has found a great partner in MWUN, stating that the MoU signing is to solidify the relationship between the two unions.

He urged all MWUN and NARTO members to see the event as an opportunity to bond the relationship between the two unions.
