“I am impressed with the pace and progress of construction work on this project which is 80 per cent completed.

“We have a coordinating team set up by Shippers council that reports progress on weekly basis.

“As at the last report, the level of completion of the dry port is 80 percent. The final assessment of the project would be done at the end of the month when we will come with the minister as a team,” he explained.

Abubakar Bawuro, chairman, Dala IDP, said everything had been put in place to ensure the speedy completion, viability and use of the dry port.

He noted that the project would lead to economic development not only of Kano, but its neighbouring states as well.
