
The Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN) has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for the agency’s ongoing institutional reforms aimed at strengthening the maritime sector.
The President of SOAN, Mr. Sonny Eja, made this known during a working visit by the association’s executive members to the agency. He reaffirmed the Association’s readiness to collaborate with NIMASA on initiatives geared toward maritime industry development, particularly in the area of fleet expansion.

Welcoming the delegation, the Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, reiterated the agency’s commitment to partnership-driven growth, noting that collaboration and shared capacity development remain central to the advancement of Nigeria’s maritime industry.
The visit provided an opportunity for both NIMASA management and SOAN executives to exchange views on strengthening cooperation and enhancing capacity across the sector.
