Transquest Holds One Day Symposium On Public Private Partnership (PPP), Celebrates 5th Year Anniversary
On Saturday 16th June 2012, all maritime stakeholders will gather for the TransQuest 5th anniversary to be commemorated with a One Day Transport Development Symposium/Transport Development Excellence Awards (TDS/TDEA), in Lagos.
According to a press release by the organising committee of TDS/TDEA 2012, and signed by the Editor-In-Chief of TransQuest Magazine, Mr. Felix Kumuyi, the event will take place at the Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja.

On Saturday 16th June 2012, all maritime stakeholders will gather for the TransQuest 5th anniversary to be commemorated with a One Day Transport Development Symposium/Transport Development Excellence Awards (TDS/TDEA), in Lagos.
According to a press release by the organising committee of TDS/TDEA 2012, and signed by the Editor-In-Chief of TransQuest Magazine, Mr. Felix Kumuyi, the event will take place at the Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja.
This year's Symposium/Award ceremony is to mark the Magazine's consistency and upward growth in the past five years despite the harsh operating environment in the media industry in Nigeria.
The theme for this year's event is 'Developing the Nigeria transport industry through public private partnership' (PPP) The event will be chaired by a veteran maritime stakeholder, Alhaji Olayiwola Shittu, National President, Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agent (ANLCA), while the Guest of Honour is the Honourable Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar.
The Guest Speaker is FRWD Alban Igwe Esq, Director, Education and Training, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarder in Nigeria (CFRRN). Also, this historic event will witness brief lectures to be delivered by NIMASA, NPA, NITT and MAN, Oron on issues affecting their various institutions/Agencies.
In the award segment of the occasion, consistency and hardworking personalities, Head of Parastatals and patriotic Nigerians in their respective professions in the Transport and Maritime sector will be honoured in different categories for excellent performance.
They include, Mr. Patrick Akpobolokemi, DG, NIMASA, Engr. Omar Suleiman, MD, NPA, Alhaji Aminu Musa, DG, NITT, Mr. Joshua Okpo, Rector, MAN, Oron, a few Customs Comptrollers and Customs Officers. Also, awards will be bestowed on media gurus and Public Relations Experts in the sector.
Speaking further, the Editor-In-Chief of TransQuest Magazine who is also the Chairman, organising Committee, said that this year's symposium is to fully educate Nigerians on the benefit of Public Private Partnership to move the transport/maritime sector forward as it has become imperative that the government cannot do it alone.
He said that the few winners of this year's award went through stringent selection process by the committee which members cut across all segments of the sector before being selected for the honour.
According to Kumuyi, “our awards are not for sale, we honour hard-work and patriotic Nigerians as a way of encouraging them to greater performance in line with Federal Government transformation agenda. I am proud that our awardees have not been found wanting in their respective responsibilities and as such we should celebrate them.’
