Bulk carrier attacked, 3 crew including Captain kidnapped, Gulf of Guinea

Bulk carrier GREBE BULKER was attacked by pirates reportedly, at 0030 UTC May 2, at Owendo Anchorage, Gabon, Gulf of Guinea. According to TradeWinds report, 3 crew were kidnapped, including Captain, Second and Third Officers. Remaining 17 crew are unharmed. The ship arrived at Owendo anchorage on Apr 30 from Harcourt, Nigeria. As of 1100 UTC May 2, bulk carrier remains in the same position, AIS is on.

Aframax tanker on fire off Singapore, South China Sea

Aframax crude oil tanker PABLO is reportedly, on fire in South China sea at Singapore outer anchorage. No other details available at the moment. Last AIS position received at 1500 LT May 1. The ship arrived at anchorage on Apr 30 from China, bound for UAE, so she should be in ballast.

Bulk carrier ADRIENNE was hit by several breakaway barges at San Lorenzo anchorage, Parana river, Argentina, in the morning May 1. The ship arrived at San Lorenzo anchorage on Apr 30. The ship sustained hull breach in portside fore area, at waterline level. Barges broke off their moorings, no more information is available.

Capesize bulk carrier fire in cargo hold, Spain

Cargo of coal self-ignited in cargo hold of Capesize bulk carrier ALPHA OPTIMISM at around 1130 LT May 2 at Langosteira harbor, La Coruna, Spain. Fire was extinguished by joint efforts of crew and port firefighters, in about an hour. Fortunately, most part of coal was already offloaded.
