Stakeholders in the maritime sector are already warming up for a ground breaking event which seeks to provide and extend networking opportunities for operators in the Nigerian maritime trade.
According to a statement issued by the organizers of the event, organisations that have already expressed support for the summit include: Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) as well as a number of other African shipping associations, Pan African freight forwarding group and African Cargo and Logistics Alliance.
One of the professionals who have been scheduled to speak at the African Logistics Summit which is to hold from March 10-12 in Abuja is foremost maritime arbitrator and law expert, Mr José M. Alcántara.
Mr Alcántara, an attorney in maritime law and maritime law adviser to the Spanish Government, is based in Madrid, and is also a member of a number of industry organizations.
Spokesperson for the summit, Mr Ukata Christian, stated that Mr Alcántara has a distinguished international record as a guest speaker, author, and lecturer in maritime law.
According to him “attendees at the Summit will gain an invaluable insight into maritime law, security, regulation and insurance issues that are impacting on the global business environment,”
The African Logistics Summit offers professional networking and business links with some of the most successful independent general freight forwarding organizations in the world and seeks to deliver a one-stop shop that focuses on win-win partnerships throughout the supply chain in Africa, he said.
