ANLCA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: Elochukwu, Aniebonam, Chapter Chairmen, Others Endorse Shittu

If the number and calibre of those who attended last week’s campaign flag-off of Prince Olayiwola Shittu is anything to go by, one can simply conclude that he is the next president of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA).

At the occasion which was attended by three traditional rulers from Lagos and Ogun state and which was presided over by the immediate past national president of the association, Chief Ernest Elochukwu, speaker after speaker eulogised the virtues of Prince Shittu who incidentally is also a member of the governing council of Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

Elochukwu told the tumultuous crowd that attended the campaign flag-off that he had total confidence in the ability of the presidential candidate to deliver. He also added that Shittu is a totally detribalised Nigerian who is eminently qualified to take the mantle of leadership as ANLCA President.

He also expressed optimism that Shittu’s presidency will take ANLCA to the next level, even a she added that he had more than 100 per cent confidence in the ability of the aspirant to deliver on his promises.

Speaking in the same manner, the founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr Boniface Aniebonam who also attended the programme stressed that Prince Shittu is the best man for the job and added that when he is eventually elected, he will be coming to carry out some repairs in ANLCA.

He told the gathering that his coming for the event is an indication that the aspirant is the best man for the job. One of the things that caught my fancy was when Shittu called me and told me that he had interest in leading ANLCA, he went further to make a statement that if it is politics to go and spend money, I will not do that”.

The pattern of endorsement went further to catch up when chairmen of chapters in the association’s western zone came out to also give their total support.

The duo of Chief Alfred Ofobike of Apapa chapter and Farinto Kayode of Tin Can chapter spoke the minds of the chapter chairmen when they got up and declared the support of the executives at that level to the aspirant.

That position was also echoed by one of the leaders of the association in western zone and former chairman of the zone, Prince Taye Oyeniyi who directed that the recently elected chapter chairmen to rise and pledge their support to the aspirant.
