The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agent (ANLCA) is set to conduct fresh elections into its Board of Trustee (BOT) soon, even as it stated that the tenure of the current BoT is due
Speaking to Shipping Position Daily, the Vice President of the association; Mr Kayode Farinto disclosed that the association is already planning to hold a fresh BOT election that will usher in new board members into the association.
Farinto informed that the tenure of the two factions of the BOT which have been at loggerheads has ended, and that fresh elections may come up before the end of next month.
Recall that, the two factions of BOT have been at loggerheads with the national executive committee over who the authentic chairman of the board is.
While the faction led by Henry Njoku has succumbed for a new election, the order faction led by Taiwo Mustapha recently obtained a court injunction which ‘sacked’ the executives, a development which prompted the Mustapha faction to want to take over affairs of the association.
However, the NECOM has continued to operate despite the ruling and recently inaugurated two chapters of the association (Kano and Abuja).
Meanwhile, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Lagos State Police command last week invited the National President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANCLA); Mr Iju Tony Nwabunike, the Vice President, Mr Kayode Farinto and the National Secretary, Alhaji Abdulazeez Mukaila, for questioning at the Lagos State Police headquarters, Ikeja
