The Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN) has elected a nine-man executive council that will pilot the affairs of its Tin Can Island port Chapter of the next four years.
The election which held last week in Lagos had only two positions that were contested for, while seven other posts, including that of the chairman and the vice chairman were unopposed.
Mr. Jude Ige was voted chairman while the post of the vice chairman went to Deacon Kevin Orisakwe.

Comrade Nvula Edogi was elected secretary of the chapter, while Dare Johnson is the new financial secretary.
James Eke is the new Assistant Secretary, while Mr Isaac Okoh emerged Public Relations Officer; defeating Dennis Atuokwu and Comrade Jude Olu.
For the post of ex – officio members; Mr. Clement N Abajue lost out the three of Pastor Christopher Eke, Comrade Samusideen Olufowobi and Nze Anayo Oleb.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the election, the newly-elected chairman said that he has been able to convince members of the chapter that there will be some level of transformation at the chapter level.
Ige said that part of his agenda for members at the chapter is to ensure that there is synergy and co-existence among all freight agents.
He added that, "as far as you are a stakeholder in the port operations at Tin Can Island port; we will all work in unity", even as he added that, "part of my primary assignment is that we the agents irrespective of our association must work together".
"I will meet with my executives on how to put in place a befitting secretariat at the chapter level, but for now, I will not want to say anything until we meet" .
