The Shippers Association of Lagos State has urged the Federal and State governments to repair the bad spots along Mile 2, Tin-Can and Apapa expressway.
General Secretary of the association, Mr Jonathan Nicol, told newsmen in Lagos that repairing the spots would stop containers from falling off trucks.
He specifically urged that: “The Federal Government should as a matter of urgency repair the roads to allow trucks to have free way.

“The Lagos State Government is benefiting from royalties from the maritime industry and should assist the Federal Government in repairing the roads, “ Nicol said.
He said that maritime business would improve, if government could reduce the traffic bottleneck along the expressway.
Nicol said that the situation had become a nightmare, adding that one could spend more than one hour on a journey that should ordinarily last five minutes on the expressway.
He pleaded with the government to repair the bad roads.
Nicol said that without good roads, revenue collection from the ports would be affected as importers would not be able to move containers out of the ports.
