Highstone Global University (HGU), Texas, USA, has conferred its 2024 Honourary Doctorate Degree on Capt. Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Operations and Technical at Tantita Security Services, along with 17 other distinguished individuals.
The awards ceremony, held in Asaba, Delta State, also recognized 16 additional recipients with the Excellence Leadership Award. Capt. Enisuoh and his cohort of honorees received the HGU Lifetime Achievement and Sustainable Development Award for their remarkable contributions to their fields and society at large.
The event featured a keynote lecture on the theme “Sustainability Through Good Governance and Community Development,” emphasizing the pivotal role of transparent leadership, human empowerment, and community involvement in achieving sustainable development goals.
Speaking after receiving his award, Capt. Enisuoh expressed gratitude to those who shaped his journey.
“I never imagined I would become a doctor. I have always been recognized as a sea captain and pilot,” Enisuoh remarked. “I want to take this opportunity to thank Oweizidei Thomas Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and my colleagues at Tantita Security. This award highlights the unique value of the people of Delta State and the Niger Delta.”
Enisuoh also acknowledged others who influenced his life, saying, “this is not to diminish the contributions of other individuals who prepared me for this moment. They have all impacted my life significantly.”
Prof. Jasper Ikpesu, a lecturer and HSE Manager at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, delivered an insightful address on the event’s theme.
“The path to sustainability is deeply connected to good governance, human development, and community participation,” Ikpesu stated. “By fostering transparent governance, empowering individuals through education and health, and leveraging community strengths, we can create a sustainable future. This requires collective effort and commitment from governments, institutions, and individuals.”
